Software Review: NetObjects BeanBuilder 1.0, Part 2
by Scott Clark
BeanBuilder initially presents the user with a Wizard (See Figure 1) which guides them through the creation process. You are asked if you wish to add an animation, image, tickertape, database, or other bean options to your project. The wizard walks you through the selection and properties of each, and then opens the whiteboard area for you to finish working on your new applet.

After using the Wizard several times, I just chose to go directly to the File menu and select "New." I then selected the "Teletype" bean from the multimedia area of the tool palette and clicked and dragged the bean until it was approximately the size I wanted on the applet area. Now it was time to add a parameter to the applet so the text file's source could be specified within the applet's HTML code on the Web page (I didn't want to hard code the text file within the applet, as that wouldn't give me many options). I grabbed the "HTML Parameter" bean from the Networking area of the tool palette, and dropped it on the applet area.
