Qarbon

ViewletBuilder lets you create really cool animated software demos!

Are you fascinated by Web sites that show animated demonstrations of software or other items, complete with moving cursors, messages, and various other special effects? Then you'll really be fascinated with ViewletBuilder 2.5... which lets you make them yourself!

Qarbon, creator of the Viewlet technology, provides two versions of their Viewlet Builder - Free and Professional. The software is available in six languages, and is fully compatible with Unicode character (2 bytes), so Viewlets can be created in any language!

While the Freeware version contains Qarbon banners, the Professional version can be bannerless, or you may add your own promotional material to your Viewlets. The Professional version also has additional personalization options, such as customized ViewletSkins that give your Viewlets the distinct look, feel and branding of your online environment.

What is a Viewlet?

Viewlets are visually rich, yet extremely compact movie files, which transform static text help files into vivid product demos. Each Viewlet opens in its own unique Java enabled browser window (and requires no plug-ins), so end-users have immediate gratification and stay on your site. Since Viewlet files are small, any dial-up user with a 56k modem can watch the demo within seconds.

The Viewlet Library

Hundereds of pre-made viewlets are available in the Viewlet Library. The library is available only to members, but since membership is free, why not join? You'll be able to browse the Viewlet Library, and view any Viewlet you like. Find a viewlet that you'd like on your own site? Qarbon allows you to put it there and even generates the code for you! The viewlet itself is hosted on the Qarbon servers, saving your server space!

The Viewlet Farm

Once you've created your Viewlets, you have the choice of hosting them on your own server or using Qarbon's dedicated Viewlet server, the ViewletFarm. Hosting on the ViewletFarm is free, and saves space on your own server. In addition, Qarbon provides a personal area dedicted to your Viewlets, allows an unlimited number of Viewlets to be hosted, and best of all, upload can be done directly from within the ViewletBuilder!

Please note: Only Viewlets created with the Freeware Edition of ViewletBuilder can be uploaded to the ViewletFarm. If you are using the Professional Edition of ViewletBuilder and have questions about hosting Viewlets, you'll need to contact Qarbon's support team.
