eVe 3 Professional

Locating images and video is not an easy task, and when there are many files to search through, sometimes the only way to search through them is visually. Now the next generation eVision technology can do just that - find images and video visually.

Visual Search allows people to simply ask a computer, "Have you seen anything that resembles this?" regardless of the type of information they are seeking -- whether it's photographs, illustrations, a video clip, a face, or many other types of visual digital data (including spectrograms of audio information).

Visual Search can be useful for many different applications including photo and video cataloging & asset management, e-commerce comparison shopping & auctions, trademark policing, medical X-Ray & MRI diagnosis, pornography filtering, face recognition, and more.

eVe has now been licensed for inlcusion in Canto Cumulus 5 enterprise version, North Plains Telescope and Webware Mambo. It is also be used to to find images from the 60,000 royalty free images library from Corbis.

SDK - Visual Search Toolkit

The eVe SDK is a powerful suite of Java component development tools that enable you to build, test, and publish your own eVe-powered, visual search applications. The toolkit supports format conversions, image analysis, automatic segmentation and clustering indexes for very rapid search and retrieval.

What's new in version 3 Professional?

eVe 3 Professional adds many features that broaden its functionality and strengthen its presence in the content-based image retrieval marketplace. Major enhancements in 3 Professional include:

  1. 100% Java implementation on all major platforms. 3 Professional is 100% Java-based. Distributions are available for Win32, Linux, Solaris, Mac OS X and IRIX.
  2. Enhanced access to the metadata fields within a MediaCollection eVe 4 Profesional will give you the ability to define and query the names of the Keys (categories) that contain metadata. You can also query the values associated with those Keys, and all of the images that have those values. For example, you can find that one Key is "Color", and ask for the values under "Color". You might get back "Blue", "Red", and "Brown". Then you can get all of the names of the images that have a value of "Red".
  3. Video Keyframe extraction Version 3.0 lets you perform visual search on analog and digital video as well as images and graphics. The engine is able to "watch" video and index a keyframe just as if it were any other still image. You can then search for videos with keyframes that match a query image. You can also use this to create storyboard representations or automatically annotate the video for later navigation.
  4. Support for Oracle server for indexing eVe 3 Profesional will allow the indexes of the MediaCollection to be stored in Oracle Server, as well as Object Store and flat files.
  5. Bug fixes and code optimizations.

System Requirements:

The SDK is currently available for Win32, Mac OS X, Linux, IRIX and Solaris operating systems.

Usage Restrictions:

The free developer evaluation SDK is limited to 500 images. This should be adequate for you to evaluate the API, create software applications for personal use or develop custom application prototypes that you can present to potential clients or in-house management.

Demos and Examples

Interactive online demos
Try 3 demos of the eVe Visual Search Engine using real world datasets. The demos lets you search using textures, colors, shapes and objects rather than just keywords and text. The Advanced Interface demo also features Partial Image Search and enhanced user control.
