| Description |
Sun[tm] ONE Studio 4 (formerly Forte[tm] for Java[tm]) software is an integrated development environment (IDE) for Java technology developers. Based on the modular, open source NetBeans[tm] Tools Platform, the Sun ONE Studio IDE is ideal for building and deploying Web services across multiple hardware and software platforms. This modular, extensible IDE enables fast adoption of new technologies from Sun, Sun's partners, and the community.
Enterprise Edition for Java
Develop and assemble Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE[tm]) applications that can be deployed to integrated application servers, such as the Sun ONE Application Server, BEA's WebLogic Application Server, or Oracle's 9iAS.
Develop, test, deploy, and register Web services based on open standards technologies like SOAP, WSDL, UDDI and the Java JAX pack components.
Supports development to the J2EE 1.3 specification. For development of J2EE 1.2 component applications, use Sun ONE Studio 3.0 software.
Community Edition
Create stand-alone applications, applets, and JavaBeans[tm] components, or build database-aware Web applications
Supports development of JavaBeans components, JavaServer Pages[tm], (JSP[tm]), Servlets, and JDBC[tm]
Mobile Edition
Develop and test MIDlet applications. Source level debugging is available using the integrated debugger.
Mount multiple third party emulators and SDKs to the IDE and rapidly switch emulator devices.
