An easy way to determine coordinates in scanned graphs. Source included.

Instructions:

- Type in the path and file name of a scanned graph that is in gif or jpg format - or use the default "example.gif"
- Select 3 or more non-colinear points to calibrate the applet - it's easiest to use points on the axes.
- Type 's' to calibrate, now the status bar will give you the coordinates of any point in the image.

Author's Notes:
Simple and effective data reader of digitized graphs in formats like .xbm, .gif, .jpg, assuming linear coordination. For anyone who can use a scanner, say good-bye to the terrible work of taking down data from journals using a pencil and a ruler!

How To Use:

  • Download reader.zip (31KB)
  • Unzip with a compression utility.
