Cliffie

Play CLIFFIE

Gotta say, this is one of the slickest, most professional applet games I've seen yet. Take a look and I think you'll agree. And the source code is all there!

Author's Notes:
The game originates from the TV series Cheers, where you now have the opportunity to play Cliffie being what he always has been - a US mailman. The objectives are as follows: to deliver mail and to drink beer with his friends at Cheers (the latter only to regain strength, of course). Some words of advice, as your mother has told you: never pet a stray dog, no matter how cute it may seem, and never cross the road without looking twice. (high-score list disbaled here)

Keys:
Arrow keys - Move Cliff in the direction the arrow points.
Enter - Deliver the letter or enter Cheers.
p - Pause the game.
F1 or h - Help.
Esc or q - Quit current game.

The Plot:
In this game you have the great opportunity to be a mailman (more correct: Cliff Clavin from Cheers). You start the game with four lives, a full beer mug, the score of zero points and you've got five minutes to complete the round. You maneuver Cliff by using the arrow keys. When you stand in front of the correct mail box (marked with a red arrow), you press "enter" to deliver the letter. You have probably already figured out that this is how you collect points in this game. The red arrow will then move to the next mailbox. It's not an easy job working as a mailman. You have to look out for cars and dogs. If a car hits you or a dog bites you, you will lose a life. It's also important that you make regular visits to the bar Cheers to fill up with beer, or else you will lose a life. When you lose a life, Cliff will automatically go to his favorite place to have a beer, and lick his wounds.
